Our story

Our story

Clinton’s Main Street runs one short block from the river. At the end of it is The River Mill View: soups and antipasti, a long list of pastas, chicken and fish done the classic way, and a patio that looks straight at the Red Mill and the falls.

The experience

Two mills, a waterfall, and your table.

In good weather you eat outside, under old trees, with the river running past the railing. The view is the one Clinton is known for.

The brand, beyond the screen.

Proposed identity and social direction for the owners to review. Nothing below is a live announcement.

Brand system

01 · Monogram

One line for the river. A full stop for the mill.

The R is drawn in a single unbroken stroke, the way the river runs past the patio. The dot is the mill on its bank. Monoline, light, hand-drawn rather than typeset.

One stroke

Start low on the left, rise into the stem, loop the bowl back across it, and let the leg run out flat. No lifts of the pen.

THE RIVER MILL VIEW 3 × dot

Room to breathe

Clear space is three dot-widths on every side. The lockup is always centred, caps tracked at 0.34em.

Small sizes

Avatars and favicons use the monogram alone. Below 32px the stroke weight steps up so the line never breaks.

02 · Colour

Cobalt, paper, ink.

Cobalt is used as whole fields: a bag, a card, a wall. Never as a thin accent. Cobalt on porcelain passes WCAG AA.

How the grid works

  1. 01Every row has one designed tile (cobalt, porcelain or kraft), one plate, one place.
  2. 02Food is shot on white plates in daylight. One small label, never more.
  3. 03Place shots carry no text. The view does the work.
  4. 04Type tiles use the light serif only. One short line.
  5. 05Behind-the-scenes kitchen content as reels, filmed with staff consent.

Captions open with the dish or the place. Every price and time must match the current menu.
